Homily 9/15/2019 -- A Compelling Witness of the Cross

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." This refers to the crucifixion. How is it that the cross--an instrument of torture and shame--becomes something that draws people? Jesus draws people to himself when the power of the cross is present in our own lives.  

Delivered on Holy Cross Day.  The Solemnity of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is our Feast of Title.
