Homily 9/15/2019 -- A Compelling Witness of the Cross

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." This refers to the crucifixion. How is it that the cross--an instrument of torture and shame--becomes something that draws people? Jesus draws people to himself when the power of the cross is present in our own lives.
